I win the "first to score in a game of Pong on the Arduino" contest. :-)

Wrote this one up this evening. Was pretty simple using the Arduino TVout
library that Chris pointed out. Code is included in the Flickr photo:

Thanks... Now I just need a second potentiometer in order to make it work
for two players.... :-)

Might be cool if we started an arduino arcade for a future event. remake

I would really like to do some higher resolution stuff, but there's
apparently not enough on-board memory on the Arduino to hold a larger frame
buffer.

With some work, it might be possible to use an external RAM chip to store
the frame buffer. Anyone know anything about using external RAM with an
Arduino? We actually designed memory architectures in school last Fall, so I
actually don't feel like it would be too hard. The programming would
probably be the most challenging part.

wow.. pete can i borrow some of your free time :)

That WAS my free time! Now I don't get any more for a week or so. :-)

Arduino Pong on the Make Blog

Quote:
Pete Lamonica of Arch Reactor built this Pong Game using the arduino-tv-out library. Pretty impressive, especially considering it's coming from a tiny 8-bit microcontroller! Source code is included in the Flickr photo description.

Thanks :-)

And a special thanks to my dog for providing the sound effects. :-P

I think the audio is off by about a second or two from the video. Shoulda
gone with an Android phone...

It's pretty amazing to me that you can just toss something like that together... How long did it take to code?

Maybe 3-4 hours.

Once I figured out how to actually draw something to the screen, that was
the hard part. :-)
