It's that time again. One week until the next 2600 meeting. Who's got
something to present? I know Paul and I will be recording the next episode
of Anonymous Audio for the meeting.

Hooray! Paul brings all sorts of good stuff to the 2600 meetings.
I'm thinking about bringing some of my Black Cherry Tomatoes (
http://twitpic.com/2a5ndj) to the meeting if anyone is interested. (BTW: If
anyone is at the space this weekend, please toss out that pasta salad in the
tin trays!)
I wish I had some programming thing to share this month, but I keep on
wandering off into the Internet doing something else (i.e. job searches).
I wonder if WasabiNet supports IRC (ports 6666 and 6667). (Verizon (rather
Sprint) seems to not like IRC over their network. On the other hand, SSH is
still fair game, AND my webhost has finally got on board with using IRSSI as
an IRC client.) I could show off using IRSSI (http://irssi.org/) in Cygwin
via mintty (http://code.google.com/p/mintty). So I guess I have a full deck
to play with next meeting. I shall prepare a presentation for using PDANet,
Cygwin, mintty, SSH, and IRSSI. I probably should take a quick crash course
in Perl via an old Perl book to show off the interworkings of IRSSI
plug-ins. (Python is the new Perl IMHO, but some people still like to use
it.)

I have realized that I can't come. I was so excited about this
meeting. But, alas, higher priorities.... Thank god for the
podcast.
Best wishes,
John
